Connecting Windows, macOS, and Linux to RepublicNodes Tunnel: A Walkthrough
Step-by-step for every major operating system, with exactly what each command does.
Connecting Windows, macOS, and Linux to RepublicNodes Tunnel: A Walkthrough
Every platform uses the same two-step flow โ install, then connect. Here's exactly what happens on each one.
Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, Kali, and most other distributions)
curl -fsSL https://republicnodes.com/rnt/install.sh | sudo bash
sudo rnt connect <your-code>
The install command detects your package manager (apt, dnf, pacman, or apk) automatically and sets up the connection engine quietly, then installs the rnt command. No distribution-specific instructions to look up.
macOS
Same two commands as Linux. The installer uses Homebrew โ if you don't have it yet, install it from brew.sh first, then run the install command.
Windows
Open PowerShell as Administrator (right-click the Start menu โ "Terminal (Admin)" or "Windows PowerShell (Admin)"), then:
irm https://republicnodes.com/rnt/install.ps1 | iex
Close and reopen an Administrator PowerShell window (so the new rnt command is picked up), then:
rnt connect <your-code>
After connecting
On any platform, rnt status tells you whether you're currently connected. rnt disconnect cleanly removes the connection if you need to move it to a different machine โ just run rnt connect again there with a fresh code from My IP Tunnels.
Getting your code
Every code comes from your dashboard, not from this guide โ open My IP Tunnels, pick your service, and click Get connect code. It's shown once, so have both commands ready before you generate it.
