Connecting your server to RepublicNodes Tunnel
Connecting your server to RepublicNodes Tunnel
Once you've ordered a plan, connecting the server that should receive the traffic takes two commands โ run on the server itself, not your own computer (unless that's what you're connecting).
Step 1: Get your connect code
Open My IP Tunnels in your dashboard, select your service, and click Get connect code. It's shown once โ copy both commands before leaving the page.
Step 2: Install
Run the install command for your server's operating system:
- Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, Kali, and most other distributions):
curl -fsSL https://republicnodes.com/rnt/install.sh | sudo bash - macOS: same command as Linux, via Homebrew
- Windows: from an Administrator PowerShell window โ
irm https://republicnodes.com/rnt/install.ps1 | iex
This sets up the RepublicNodes Tunnel app and puts the rnt command on your system.
Step 3: Connect
Run the connect command shown on your dashboard, with your one-time code:
sudo rnt connect <your-code>
(On Windows, drop sudo โ just run rnt connect <your-code> in the Administrator PowerShell window.)
That's it. Your service page shows Connected once the link is confirmed โ usually within a few seconds.
Checking your connection later
Run rnt status (or sudo rnt status on Linux/macOS) any time to see if you're still connected. rnt disconnect removes the connection cleanly if you need to move it elsewhere โ just run rnt connect again with a fresh code from your dashboard.
Reconnecting
If you reinstall your server's OS or need to connect a different machine, get a fresh code from My IP Tunnels โ each code is one-time use, and generating a new one doesn't affect the one before it if it's already been used.
