RepublicNodes Infrastructure: The Hardware Behind Our Hosting
At RepublicNodes, we believe hosting performance starts with the infrastructure behind the service.
Our infrastructure is built around a combination of modern server hardware, high-performance desktop CPUs, enterprise processors and carefully reused legacy hardware. The exact CPU generation and hardware available to a customer depends on the hosting category, plan and infrastructure selected.
Our goal is simple: provide reliable infrastructure while making responsible use of hardware that still has useful computing life.
Our Modern CPU Infrastructure
Different RepublicNodes regions and hosting categories can run on different CPU platforms.
Our infrastructure includes processors such as:
- AMD EPYC 7763
- AMD EPYC 7443P
- AMD Ryzen 9 9950X
- AMD Ryzen 9 5950X
- AMD Ryzen 7 5700G
- Intel Xeon-E 2388G
- Intel Xeon E3-1270 v6
- Intel Xeon E5-2699 v4
We also operate additional CPU configurations across our infrastructure.
The processor you receive depends on the hosting category and plan you purchase. This allows us to offer different performance levels for different workloads instead of forcing every customer onto the same hardware.
Legacy Hardware With a Purpose
Not every workload requires the latest processor.
RepublicNodes also makes use of older hardware where it remains practical and reliable for the workload.
Examples include:
- Intel Xeon E5-2697 v2
- Intel Xeon E5-2650 v2
- Intel Xeon E3-1270 v2
- Intel Xeon E3-1246 v3
- Intel Core i7-3770
- Intel Core i7-4170
- Intel Core i7 2nd Generation
- Intel Core i7-7700K
These systems can still be useful for suitable hosting workloads when properly configured.
Instead of automatically treating older hardware as electronic waste, we aim to extend the useful life of equipment where it makes technical and economic sense.
Eco-Friendly Hardware Approach
One of the principles behind our infrastructure is responsible hardware reuse.
Modernizing every server immediately can create unnecessary electronic waste when older systems are still capable of handling appropriate workloads.
By continuing to use suitable legacy hardware, we aim to:
- Extend hardware lifespan
- Reduce unnecessary electronic waste
- Reuse existing computing resources
- Reduce unnecessary hardware replacement
- Provide additional infrastructure choices
- Match hardware to workload requirements
This does not mean every service runs on legacy hardware.
Our infrastructure includes both modern and older CPU platforms, and the hardware generation depends on the service category and plan.
Dedicated Resource Reservations
Our hosting infrastructure is designed around dedicated resource reservations for our plans.
The resources assigned to a hosting service are managed according to the configuration of the purchased plan and the infrastructure available in that region.
This allows us to build different hosting categories for different workloads, including:
- Minecraft Hosting
- Game Hosting
- VPS Hosting
- Dedicated Server Hosting
- Storage Hosting
- Development workloads
- Other infrastructure services
The exact specifications depend on the product and plan.
10Gbps Network Infrastructure
Our India infrastructure uses 10Gbps network connectivity.
Our nodes can use high-capacity network infrastructure to support demanding workloads, game servers, applications and other hosting services.
Network allocation and practical bandwidth availability depend on the individual hosting plan and service configuration.
This infrastructure is designed to provide high network capacity without making every customer depend on a single low-capacity connection.
DDoS Protection
Selected RepublicNodes infrastructure is protected with DDoS mitigation.
Some nodes have always-on Layer 3 and Layer 4 DDoS protection, while protection availability depends on the infrastructure and service.
DDoS protection is particularly important for services such as:
- Minecraft servers
- Game servers
- VPS infrastructure
- Public applications
- Network services
Protection availability and mitigation capacity can vary between regions and plans, so customers should check the specific product configuration before ordering.
Secure Storage Infrastructure
At RepublicNodes, we understand that storage performance is only one part of reliable hosting. Protecting customer data from individual drive failures is equally important.
Our storage infrastructure can be configured with redundant storage using RAID or drive-mirroring technologies, depending on the service and storage configuration.
Data Replication Across Drives
For supported storage configurations, the same data can be replicated across two physical storage devices.
For example, if a storage system contains:
- 2 ร 1TB SSDs
you may have different configuration options depending on the service.
Option 1: 1TB Protected Storage
Both 1TB SSDs contain a synchronized copy of the same data.
Usable storage: 1TB
Raw storage: 2TB
If one SSD fails, the second drive can continue providing access to the replicated data, subject to the RAID configuration and recovery process.
This configuration prioritizes data redundancy and storage protection over maximum usable capacity.
Option 2: 2TB Maximum Storage
The two 1TB SSDs can instead be configured to provide approximately:
Usable storage: 2TB
In this configuration, the drives are used primarily for capacity rather than maintaining a complete mirrored copy of the data.
This provides more usable storage but does not provide the same drive-level redundancy as a mirrored configuration.
Choose Capacity or Redundancy
Depending on the service, customers may have to choose between:
| Configuration | Raw Storage | Usable Storage | Drive Redundancy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mirrored / Redundant | 2 ร 1TB | 1TB | Yes |
| Maximum Capacity | 2 ร 1TB | 2TB | No |
The exact storage technologies and available configurations depend on the hosting plan.
Backups Are Separate From RAID
RAID or drive mirroring should not be considered a complete backup system.
RAID primarily helps protect against certain hardware or drive failures. It does not protect against every possible form of data loss.
For supported services, RepublicNodes may maintain additional backup mechanisms such as:
- Daily backups
- Weekly backups
- Manual backups
- Additional recovery copies where applicable
These backup systems are separate from the primary storage configuration.
Important Backup Notice
RepublicNodes does not automatically back up every customer server or every type of data by default.
Customers should check the backup availability of their specific hosting plan and configure the appropriate backup solution when required.
If your workload contains important data, we strongly recommend maintaining an appropriate backup strategy.
Storage Configuration Example
Suppose you purchase a service with:
2 ร 1TB SSD
You can prioritize either:
Data Protection
Use the drives as a mirrored storage configuration.
You receive approximately 1TB usable storage, while the second drive maintains a copy of the data.
Maximum Capacity
Use the drives for maximum available storage capacity.
You receive approximately 2TB usable storage, but you do not have the same protection against a single-drive failure that a mirrored configuration provides.
The right configuration depends on your workload.
For important production data, redundancy and independent backups are generally preferable to simply maximizing usable storage.
Built Around Your Workload
Whether you are running a Minecraft server, VPS, application, database, website or other workload, storage requirements can be very different.
Some customers need maximum capacity.
Others prioritize redundancy and recovery.
RepublicNodes therefore provides storage configurations designed around different workloads and service requirements.
Before selecting a storage configuration, consider:
- How much storage you actually need
- How important the data is
- Whether drive redundancy is required
- Whether external backups are available
- How quickly the data needs to be recovered
More capacity is not always the same as more protection.
Choose the configuration that best matches your workload.
UPS and Power Backup
Power reliability is an important part of hosting infrastructure.
Our India infrastructure includes UPS and inverter-backed systems.
Some of our infrastructure is designed with extended backup capabilities for power outages, including setups intended to support long-duration outages.
Our home-lab infrastructure is also designed for continuous operation and includes backup power systems.
Actual backup duration depends on the specific infrastructure, load and power configuration.
24/7 Infrastructure
Our infrastructure is designed for continuous operation.
We operate our own infrastructure in India, including our own home-lab environment, alongside infrastructure across other regions.
Our systems are monitored and maintained to keep services operational around the clock.
Where a service or infrastructure is advertised with a specific uptime commitment, the applicable service terms and SLA should be considered.
IPMI Dedicated Servers
Selected dedicated server infrastructure is equipped with IPMI.
IPMI provides remote hardware management capabilities and can be useful when managing dedicated infrastructure remotely.
Depending on the server hardware, IPMI can allow capabilities such as:
- Remote power management
- Hardware monitoring
- Remote console access
- Server recovery
- Remote troubleshooting
- Operating system installation workflows
Dedicated server availability and exact IPMI capabilities depend on the individual server.

If you want to deploy your own hardware or discuss a custom infrastructure requirement, contact our sales or support team.
Multiple Regions and Hardware Platforms
RepublicNodes operates infrastructure across multiple regions and hardware configurations.
Different regions may use different CPU generations, network configurations and server platforms.
This means the hardware available to you depends on:
- Hosting category
- Selected plan
- Selected region
- Current infrastructure availability
- Resource requirements
- Hardware reservations
For this reason, customers should always check the specifications of the specific product they are ordering.
Built for Different Workloads
Different workloads require different hardware.
A lightweight development application may not need an AMD EPYC processor.
A large Minecraft server may benefit from high single-core performance.
A virtualization workload may benefit from high core counts and large memory capacity.
A dedicated server customer may require IPMI and complete operating-system control.
RepublicNodes therefore uses multiple CPU families and server configurations rather than relying on one hardware platform for everything.
Our Infrastructure Philosophy
Our infrastructure strategy is based on three important principles:
Performance
Use modern and suitable hardware where the workload requires it.
Reliability
Build infrastructure with appropriate networking, power backup, monitoring and operational systems.
Responsible Hardware Usage
Continue using older hardware when it remains technically suitable instead of unnecessarily discarding equipment.
