Is RepublicNodes Tunnel secure?

Your traffic is encrypted end to end

The connection between our edge network and your server is established using modern, industry-standard encryption — the same category of technology used by corporate VPNs — so traffic between our edge and your server can't be read or tampered with in transit.

Only your server can use your connection

Each connect code is single-use and expires after an hour. Once your server connects, that link is uniquely tied to it — nobody else can forward traffic through it, and we never share a full-IP connection between two customers.

We're not an open relay

On shared (port forwarding) plans, every port rule is explicitly created by you and checked against a reserved-ports list and against every other rule already on that IP before it's ever activated — there's no way for one customer's rule to collide with or expose another's.

What you're responsible for

RepublicNodes Tunnel gets traffic to your server — what your server does with it is still your responsibility, same as with any other hosting. Keep the software you expose updated, and don't forward ports to services you haven't secured (e.g. don't forward RDP or a database port to the open internet without authentication).
