Buying and using additional IP addresses on your VPS

Some VPS plans let you add extra IPv4 addresses beyond the one your server already has โ€” useful for hosting multiple SSL sites on distinct IPs, running services that each need their own address, or separating traffic.

Adding extra IPs

Open your VPS service and go to Upgrade. If the plan supports it, Additional IPv4 addresses appears as an option โ€” choose how many you need and confirm. Extra IPs are billed as an ongoing add-on alongside your regular plan price, not a one-time fee.

Where the IP shows up

Once added, the new address is attached to your VPS as an additional network interface automatically โ€” you don't need to request anything further from us. It appears as a new interface (not an alias on the existing one) when you check your network configuration from inside the VPS.

Configuring it inside your OS

On most modern Linux distributions using Netplan or systemd-networkd, a newly attached interface should pick up its configuration automatically via DHCP on next boot. If it doesn't appear with ip addr, check dmesg for a new network interface being detected, and consult your distribution's networking documentation for bringing up a new interface โ€” the steps differ slightly between Ubuntu, Debian and others.

Removing an extra IP

Reduce the quantity from the same Upgrade page. Any data or configuration inside your VPS that was using that specific address will need to be reconfigured afterward โ€” removing the IP doesn't automatically undo anything you set up with it.
