How to Customize Your Game Server Website's Code
A practical guide to editing the real HTML and CSS behind your auto-generated game server website.
How to Customize Your Game Server Website's Code
Your Website Builder site isn't a black box โ the Editor tab gives you direct access to the actual index.html and style.css behind it. Here's how to make the most of that.
Start small
Before a full redesign, try something low-risk first: change a heading, tweak a color in the CSS, add a new paragraph. Save and refresh to see it live immediately โ there's no separate publish step.
Adding a new section
Copy an existing <section> or <div> block in the HTML as a starting point, then edit the text and any classes it references in the CSS. Working from something that already renders correctly is much easier than writing a whole new layout from scratch.
Keep the placeholders if you want auto-updates
The generator fills in your server name, connect address, logo and social links into specific spots in the template. If you delete or rewrite those sections, that specific piece of information stops being automatically kept in sync โ fine if you're going fully custom, but worth knowing before you do.
Save your work before resetting
The Template & Color panel can reset your site back to a clean template version โ which overwrites your current code. If you've made edits worth keeping, copy them out of the Editor first.
Common small wins
- Add a server rules or FAQ section
- Embed a live player-count widget if your game supports one
- Add screenshots of your builds/base/community events
